National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel
Inspectors Examination Preparation

Pacific Technical Services offers a National Board Examination preparatory course that is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and training necessary to pass the National Board Examination. This intensive 15 day course will prepare the students by providing the specific practical knowledge and teaching the mathematics needed to successfully pass the National Board Examination. The material for this course is taken from ASME Section I, V, XIII, IX and ANSI B 31.1 in addition to the National Board Inspection Code. The pass rate for students prepared by Pacific Techincal Services exceeds 95% over the past six years.

API 510 Examination Preparation Seminar

This six day seminar provides those attending with the math and practical knowledge skills required to pass the API 510 examination. This is accomplished by providing the student with study guides for practical knowledge and math questions. The practical knowledge study guide is provided for pre-course study four to six weeks in advance of the seminar. During the seminar, rigorous instruction on the math topics, lectures on the practical knowledge subjects and testing are used to prepare the student for the examination.

Each student must provide his/her own code books in accordance with the examination application package provided by the American Petroleum Institute. The application package can be downloaded from the API website at www.api.org . A non programmable calculator and materials for highlighting and tabbing the code books are also required.

American Petroleum Institute 653 Examination Preparation

This three day seminar provides those attending with the math and practical knowledge skills required to pass the API 653 examination. This is accomplished by providing the student with study guides for practical knowledge and math questions. The practical knowledge study guide is provided for pre-course study four to six weeks in advance of the seminar. During the seminar, rigorous instruction on the math topics, lectures on the practical knowledge subjects and testing are used to prepare the student for the examination.

AWS CWI Examination Preparation Seminar

This five day seminar provides those attending with the math and practical knowledge skills required to pass the American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector examination. Pacific Technical Services utilizes the American Welding Society course materials to prepare students for the exam. Students must purchase the "Welding Inspection Technology" study guide and workbook from the American Welding Society in advance of the seminar for pre-study. ASME/National Board Code Repairs Seminar

Pacific Technical Services offers a two-day seminar on the repair of boilers and pressure vessels under the requirements of the ASME Codes and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Code. This seminar addresses the requirements for welding, inspection, documentation, and testing of equipment, which has been repaired or altered in accordance with the ASME Codes and the NBIC. During the seminar, time is provided for the discussion of specific circumstances brought up by the students.
